Al Ahly Respond to Qatari Interest in Palestinian Star Wessam Abou Ali
Al Ahly have broken their silence on rumors linking Wessam Abou Ali with move to Qatar’s Al Arabi during the current summer transfer window.
A senior source at the Egyptian giants told Koora that no official bid has yet been received but interest's very real.
"There’s strong commitment to keep Abou Ali, He’s top class striker and has proven himself" the source said.
The source added that Qatari clubs have reached out to club president Mahmoud El Khatib to inquire about Abou Ali’s availability.
While Al Arabi haven't submitted formal offer, the player’s agent reportedly confirmed that official approaches are imminent and Qatari delegation's expected in Cairo within week to begin direct talks.
Al Ahly are said to consider parting with Abou Ali for around 10 million dollar a valuation reflective of his rising stock.
The 24 year old Palestinian forward earned Man of the Match honors in Al Ahly’s dramatic 4 - 4 draw against FC Porto in their final Group A fixture at the 2025 FIFA Club World cup.
Abou Ali scored brilliant hat trick (15, 45+2, 51) before leaving the field in the 58 minute due to injury. Despite the setback, his performance has turned heads globally.
