Al-Diriyah ‘have signed’ Abdullah Al-Zaid from Al-Hilal after Malcom snub | OneFootball

Al-Diriyah have moved for Al-Hilal prospect Abdullah Al-Zaid after Malcom is understood to have rejected a transfer. Al-Jazirah reports that Al-Diriyah have signed the winger, saying he has already completed his transfer paperwork.

That decision came despite both clubs agreeing terms for a deal earlier in the window.

Al-Zaid impressed for Al-Hilal’s under-21s in the Joy Elite League last season, largely on the left wing. He can also play on the right or operate as a playmaker.

Those performances caught the eye of head coach Simone Inzaghi, who included the 22-year-old in the first team’s pre-season camp in Austria before the new campaign.

He is the latest summer addition at Al-Diriyah. The club have already made several notable signings, most recently Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye after his Everton contract expired.
