Al-Ettifaq 'have filed' complaint over Al-Ittihad ITTI trademark, chants used as evidence | OneFootball

Al-Ettifaq have lodged an official objection with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property to Al-Ittihad’s registration of the ITTI trademark.

Arriyadiyah reports the club say they have used the name for years and that it is central to their fan identity, submitting material that features it in supporter chants and across products and media.

The administration fear the registration could restrict their future right to use ITTI on merchandise and in commercial or media activity, so they moved to safeguard rights linked to the name.

The filing includes documents dating back several years, aiming to establish first use and underline how closely the name is tied to the club and its supporters.

Al-Ettifaq are awaiting the authority’s decision once it has reviewed the submission. Al-Ittihad launched the ITTI mark last July as part of a brand strategy to strengthen presence, diversify revenue and drive commercial and investment growth.
