Al-Faraj rubbishes Malcom-to-UAE rumours ahead of Gulf Cup 27 in Jeddah

Saudi broadcaster Waleed Al-Faraj has poured cold water on social media claims that Malcom has been named in the UAE squad for Gulf Cup 27, which starts tomorrow in Jeddah.

According to Goal.com, posts suggested the Brazilian had gained Emirati nationality and been selected for the tournament.

Group two features the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen.

Speaking on Rotana Sport with Waleed, Al-Faraj mocked the speculation, saying it came from WhatsApp mothers groups and urging people not to take such posts seriously.

Malcom joined UAE club Al-Jazira from Al-Hilal last August after a distinguished spell with the Saudi side.
