Al-Hilal head to Al-Taawoun wary of a back-to-back league slump, a curse first suffered by neighbours Al-Nassr and said to have been absent for five years. According to Goal.com, the Riyadh club want to avoid its return.

The visitors face Al-Taawoun in Buraidah on Saturday in the seventh round of the Saudi Roshn League.

They travel after their first setback of the campaign, a 2-0 reverse to Neom on Monday in the sixth round.

Al-Hilal last endured successive league defeats around five years ago. In December 2021 they were beaten 2-0 by Al-Nassr, then went down 3-2 to Al-Fateh in the following round.

Since then, they have avoided consecutive losses, with the worst response to a defeat being a draw in the next match.

Al-Hilal currently lead the Saudi Roshn League on 15 points, ahead of Al-Nassr and Al-Qadsiah on goal difference, who are second and third respectively.
