Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr ‘to compete’ for Bernardo Silva on free transfer

Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are competing to sign Bernardo Silva for the Roshen League on a free transfer this summer, Al-Yaum reports.

Pep Lenders, assistant to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, has said the midfielder is in his final months at the club after nine years at the Etihad, with his comments published by the BBC.

He added that every story has an end, and that he hopes Silva enjoys this period and gets the farewell he deserves. The assistant also said players of Silva’s calibre cannot be replaced like for like.

Silva has played alongside Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal since March 2015.

The 31-year-old has also been linked with Barcelona, Juventus and clubs in the American league.
