Jeers broke out as his image appeared, catching the Frenchman by surprise and reflecting anger at the Green Falcons’ recent results.

Renard has come under heavy criticism after March friendlies ended in defeats, 4-0 to Egypt and 2-1 to Serbia.

Fans of the national team, along with media figures and former players, have called for him to be sacked and for a new manager to lead the Green Falcons at the 2026 World Cup.

Names suggested as alternatives include Simone Inzaghi, Al-Hilal’s manager, as well as Jorge Jesus, Walid Regragui and Saad Al-Shehri. Saudi Arabia are in Group H of the World Cup with Spain, Uruguay and Cape Verde.
