A full agreement has reportedly been reached between Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad for the transfer of Karim Benzema (38), according to a report from RMC Sport.
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, whose departure from his club had been expected for several days and for whom interest in a return to France had even been mentioned, will therefore continue his journey in Saudi Arabia.
After arriving at Al-Ittihad on a free transfer from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, the French forward played 83 matches for the Jeddah-based club, scoring 54 goals and providing a total of 17 assists. A Middle Eastern adventure punctuated by a league title and a King’s Cup win last season.
At Al-Hilal, current leaders of the Saudi Pro League, where he is expected to sign a contract until 2027, Benzema should be reunited with familiar faces, such as Theo Hernández, whom he played alongside in Madrid and for the French national team.
