After a week of speculation, Barcelona have finally made a breakthrough in the deal to sign Joao Cancelo, agreeing a loan deal with Al Hilal.

But this is not the only deal Barcelona will be negotiating with the Saudi Arabian giants, who have set their sights firmly on Raphinha.

Al Hilal are desperately looking for a replacement for Neymar and Raphinha has emerged as the ideal option.

Al Hilal table €100 million offer

According to reports relayed by Fichajes, Al Hilal are prepared to offer a whopping €100 million to acquire the services of Raphinha.

The Saudi Arabian giants had presented the idea during the negotiations for Cancelo, with the club ready to offer €80 million in fixed fee and an additional €20 million through performance-linked bonuses.

Barcelona are aware that it will be difficult for any other European club to match such an offer right now.

Will Barcelona let Raphinha leave?

The report suggests Raphinha has a gentleman’s agreement with sporting director Deco, which will allow the forward to leave the club should he wish.

Barcelona, for their part, are aware of their economic turmoil, and the sale of Raphinha could potentially fix that.

Indeed, the revenue addition of Raphinha’s potential sale could put Barcelona back in contention in the transfer market. But in the process, the club would lose arguably its best performer in the Hansi Flick era.

Barcelona will be mindful of how Raphinha’s return from injury has instantly improved the team.

As such, the club have not made a final decision yet, but the magnitude of the offer could force the Catalans to at least consider the offer from Al Hilal.
