Al-Hilal release Mathieu Patouillet, ‘to sign’ youth defender | OneFootball

Al-Hilal have continued to trim their foreign ranks, with a mutual termination agreed for young French goalkeeper Mathieu Patouillet, Al-Saudiya’s Dawrina Ghair reported. The deal lets him leave on a free.

His exit opens a youth-category foreign slot, and the club could use it on a defender, particularly if Turkish defender Yusuf Akcicek departs.

Both arrived in the youth bracket last summer. A year on, Patouillet has gone and Akcicek could follow.

Akcicek featured in numerous matches, either starting or from the bench, while Patouillet did not convince Italian coach Simone Inzaghi.

Al-Hilal are also pushing to add foreign reinforcements this summer, especially a winger and a striker. The departures of Darwin Nunez and Malcom have already been confirmed.
