According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Saudi Arabian giants Al Ittihad have officially approached FC Porto to negotiate the signing of Portuguese striker Rodrigo Mora, who has also been on Real Madrid’s radar.

Talks are already underway between the two clubs, while Mora’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is also involved in discussions.

The young striker’s contract currently includes a €70 million release clause, which makes him one of the most valuable emerging talents in Europe.

A promising talent

At just 18 years of age, Mora has attracted interest from several top clubs across the continent thanks to his finishing ability, movement, and maturity well beyond his years.

Only earlier this year, Porto rejected multiple approaches from Premier League sides, underlining their determination to hold onto their rising star. However, the offer from Saudi Arabia could prove too tempting to turn down.

Should a move materialise, Mora could find himself lining up alongside Karim Benzema, a partnership that would instantly catch global attention.

What this means for Real Madrid?

For Real Madrid, Mora has long been seen as a potential option for the future. Reports suggested that the Spanish giants were monitoring him closely, particularly as a possible replacement for Rodrygo if the Brazilian were to leave the Bernabeu.

Mora’s talent and profile made him an attractive candidate, but Madrid were never planning to enter into a bidding war for his services.

Now, with Rodrygo increasingly likely to stay and Mora in advanced talks with Al Ittihad, it appears that Madrid’s stance will remain unchanged.

While the club will continue to monitor his development, the Saudi side currently have the upper hand in negotiations.

Unless Real Madrid change their approach in the final stretch of the transfer window, the Portuguese striker could be set for an unexpected adventure in Saudi Arabia.
