Laurent Blanc was dismissed from the Al Ittihad bench this Sunday. To replace him, the Saudi club is eyeing Barça legend Xavi.

The defeat against Al Nassr (0-2) last Friday went down very badly at Al Ittihad. The club has decided to part ways with Laurent Blanc, who had been in charge since the summer of 2024 and led the team to the Roshn Saudi League title last season. The club is now searching for a new head coach to revive their campaign.

According to information from Matteo Moretto, the Saudi management has already reached out to Xavi. Free since his departure from FC Barcelona, the Spaniard knows the region well thanks to his experience at the helm of Al Sadd in Qatar between 2019 and 2021, after spending four years there as a player (2015-2019).
