Al-Nassr want to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the club and are set to present their transfer plans to the forward to persuade him to sign a new deal.
Ronaldo’s current contract with the Saudi Pro League side expires later this month and he is yet to agree terms on an extension.
The 40-year-old has scored 99 goals in 111 appearances since joining the Saudi side from Manchester United. However, Al-Nassr have failed to win the Pro League title in each of his two campaigns and finished third in 2024/25, 13 points behind champions Al-Ittihad.
Ronaldo has been linked with a shock move to divisional rivals Al-Hilal, but Al-Nassr have not given up hope of persuading the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to sign a new deal.
The club are ready to present their plan for the transfer window to the Portugal captain. According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is high among the club’s top targets.
Liverpool are not openly looking to sell the Colombian but could accept offers in excess of £70m for the 28-year-old. Diaz scored 17 goals in all competitions last season as Liverpool won the Premier League title.
Diaz’s girlfriend, Gera Ponce, posted an Instagram message after the final game thanking the Liverpool fans for their support. It was met with various comments suggesting it was a ‘goodbye message’ to Anfield.
She wrote: “To the incredible Liverpool fans. From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club. We knew the slogan was ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support us every moment and show such unconditional love… confirmed to us that here you never walk alone.
“This fan doesn’t just support, it feels. And what you have made my boyfriend and our entire family feel is something we carry in our souls.
“Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and for making us feel at home. Being a part of this fan is a privilege. There’s no doubt: they’re the best in the world. This is a real bond, deep and strong, that reaffirms that we’ll never walk alone.”
Al-Nassr are also interested in signing Feyenoord centre-back David Hancko and a ‘world-class midfielder’ in the summer window.
