SAN DIEGO – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continued as Saudi Arabia debuted with a 1-nil victory against Haiti in Group D on Sunday at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.

Saleh Al-Shehri converted from the penalty spot in the 21’ to score the only goal of the encounter.

Frantzdy Pierrot and the Haiti offense attempted to even the score before the half but could not find the equalizer against the tournament hosts.

Haiti goalkeeper Johny Placide came up with a timely save in the 78’ to deny Ziyad Aljohani from close range.

Saudi Arabia collected the three points in its first Gold Cup encounter. The Green Falcons will meet the United States on Thursday in Austin, Texas with first place in Group D on the line. Haiti will meet Trinidad and Tobago in Houston, Texas earlier in the day.
