Midtjylland midfielder Alamara Djabi, 19, was seriously injured in a stabbing in Herning on Sunday evening and is now in a stable condition after two days in a coma.

According to L'Équipe, local police issued a wanted notice for the main suspect on Monday. Midtjylland released a statement on Tuesday and are working closely with the authorities.

Djabi underwent emergency surgery after the incident, then had a second operation. He has been brought out of the induced coma and is doing well given the circumstances.

The club have offered full support to the midfielder and his loved ones.

A Benfica academy graduate, the Bissau-Guinean moved to Denmark in 2023. He has made one appearance this season, in the Europa League qualifying play-offs.
