Alan Pardew has been talking about Nick Woltemade.

The former Newcastle United manager discussing the impact the Germany international has made so far.

As well as what Nick Woltemade can achieve overall this season, especially when it comes to scoring goals.

Having started nine matches in all competitions for Newcastle United so far this season, the summer signing has scored six goals.

Alan Pardew has made a big prediction on how many goals Nick Woltemade will score in total for Newcastle United this season.

Alan Pardew speaking to Talksport about Nick Woltemade:

“He has settled lovely, scored goals.

“That penalty he took against Nottingham Forest…where he just smashed it in the top corner, that shows the confidence he has.

“I think he will have a big season at Newcastle United.

“Newcastle are probably one of the best teams in the division at doing that (putting crosses in) and they sustain pressure.

“So that constant threat of attacking play makes them a real force.

“He is going to have a nice supply of ammunition to get goals and I think he will.

“I think he will end up with twenty goals (this season).”

My thoughts

Nick Woltemade has already shown Newcastle fans he can score all kinds of goals.

As well as putting in overall excellent unselfish performances, working hard for the team and helping to set in motion attacking moves, Nick Woltemade has now scored three goals with his head, two with clever flicks, plus a real class penalty taking technique to score a spot-kick.

Newcastle United have a minimum of another 36 matches to play this season, across four competitions.

So with already six goals in nine starts, I don’t think anybody will be doubting Nick Woltemade isn’t capable of getting another 14 or more goals in the remaining 36+ Newcastle United matches this season.

As Alan Pardew points out, United have a formidable supply line as well.

It was a tough start to the season for so many reasons and only four goals were scored by Newcastle United in their opening six matches. However, these next eight NUFC games have seen 19 goals scored by United, suggesting that the remainder of the season will see a very healthy return of goals, with very likely Nick Woltemade getting more than his fair share.
