Arsenal last won on Tyneside almost two and a half years ago, towards the end of the 2022/23 season.

Since then, it has been three victories in a row at St James’ Park for Newcastle against the Gunners, without United conceding a single goal.

Anthony Gordon giving Newcastle United a deserved 1-0 Premier League win in the 2023/24 campaign, then providing a superb cross for Alexander Isak to head home last season for the same result.

Following that, goals from Jacob Murphy and Anthony Gordon gave Eddie Howe’s team the 2-0 home Carabao Cup win in February that confirmed NUFC’s Wembley appearance and eventual trophy win.

Alan Shearer speaking to Metro – 27 September 2025:

“Huge game for two sides that both drew at the weekend.

“I think with Newcastle at home, I’m going to go with Newcastle to beat Arsenal in a bad-tempered game.

“Prediction – Newcastle United win.”
