Alario bags a brace, Estudiantes crowned champions

Estudiantes de La Plata are the champions of the Trofeo de Campeones. In a thrilling match in San Nicolás, Eduardo Dominguez’s team woke up, turned the game around, and beat Platense. Zapiola put Calamar ahead, the match was back and forth, and Platense was a bit better, until they dropped back to withstand the attacks from El Pincha.

And just like what happened in Santiago last week, El León woke up, and that’s when Pipa showed up. The number 9, who had come on well against Racing, came in today to change the game’s equation. A brace from Alario, with a last-gasp goal to make it 2-1. Estudiantes are champions once again.
