Deportivo Alavés have criticised Rayo Vallecano’s communication over away tickets, five days before their meeting at Butarque, Rayo’s temporary home while Estadio de Vallecas undergoes works.
The club said in a statement on social media that it is still waiting for Rayo to provide the procedure for requesting away tickets for Thursday 20, LaLiga matchday 2, adding it will share details once received.
The delay has left Alavés supporters struggling to plan travel, and Rayo fans flooded the post with apologies and criticism of their own president.
Rayo followers are also affected. The Madrid club are the only side in the top flight without an online ticket service, meaning only visiting fans can buy online for Rayo home games.
Home fans without season tickets must purchase in person at the ticket office during opening hours, often overlapping with the working day.
Rayo already staged home fixtures at Butarque last season.
Supporters’ groups have staged fresh protests at Estadio de Vallecas, calling for respect and dignity for the club and the resignation of president Raúl Martín Presa. They have vowed not to attend Butarque and demanded clarity on how many matches will be played away from Vallecas.
