La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés have on Thursday announced a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.
The player to have taken his talents to Vitoria-Gasteiz with a view to next season? Moussa Diarra.
Diarra, for his part, is a 23-year-old stopper, who chiefly operates as the heart of defence, but is also more than capable of taking to the pitch at left-back.
A fully established senior international with Mali, he has spent the entirety of his career to date on the books of Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse.
This past season, Diarra racked up 22 appearances in France’s top-flight, chipping in with a goal and two assists along the way.
And such exploits, evidently, proved enough to convince those behind the scenes at the aforementioned Alavés of his ideal fit in the squad of Luis García.
The Babazorros, in turn, have moved decisively, to bring the Malian in for the season ahead.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms on Thursday:
‘Deportivo Alavés have signed defender Moussa Diarra until 2028. The 23-year-old Frenchman (Stains, 10/11/2000) and international for Mali, joins the Albiazul team to reinforce their defensive line.’
