Bayer Leverkusen target Christian Kofane has been threatened with legal action by his current employers, Spanish side Albacete, after training at a private football school in the city.
Jorge Buergo, quoted via AS/Bild, said: “It seems strange and irresponsible that the player is engaging in sporting activities outside the contractually agreed-upon control of Albacete’s coaches,” before describing the player’s behaviour as “disrespectful” while threatening to “take legal action” should the offence be repeated.
Kofane has already undergone and completed a medical with Bayer Leverkusen. A reason for the delay, as reported by Bild, is because the player’s release clause of a reported €5m doesn’t come into effect until mid-July. Despite the actions of the player at Albacete, this won’t put the Cameroonian’s move to Leverkusen in doubt, as further noted by Bild.
The 18-year-old scored eight goals and provided one assists in 20 LaLiga2 games for Albacete last season.
