Alberto Marí granted free transfer as Valencia CF exit nears | OneFootball

Alberto Marí is on the verge of leaving Valencia CF, with la Ser reporting he has been granted a free transfer while he finishes his recovery. He was not in Carlos Corberán’s plans and an exit had long been expected. He can now seek a new club in the second tier.

Aged 25, the striker joined the club’s B team in 2021 and, in a surprise move, extended his deal last year by two more seasons. The move frees a squad place and some wage bill, and it does not alter the club’s plans for this window.

He underwent surgery in March on his left biceps femoris, which cost him the LaLiga Hypermotion campaign. His pre-season was complicated by rehabilitation.

Loans to Real Zaragoza and Mirandés brought limited return. He produced three goals and one assist in 29 outings for Zaragoza, then one goal and two assists at Mirandés as injury struck.

For Valencia’s first team he has made 25 appearances, scoring two in LaLiga. He earned his debut after a strong year with the reserves, delivering 11 goals in 29 matches.
