Albion are giving Zadok Yohanna time to adapt to Premier League demands.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, the 19-year-old Nigerian winger has been stood down from first-team matchday duties and is focusing on strength and fitness work.

He featured off the bench in pre-season, then at home to Aston Villa, and in both Conference League ties against Tromso.

Under-21s prospect Miah Oriola has filled a bench spot for the last two Premier League games, against Chelsea and Leeds.

An appearance is unlikely before next month’s trip to Sunderland, the fixture that will be Albion’s first after the international break.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said Yohanna had a small issue and stressed that players need time to adjust to the Premier League’s intensity and demands, so the club are being careful with him.

Albion signed Yohanna for £21.5 million on a five-year contract from AIK, the former club of Yasin Ayari.

Chema Andres and Jaouen Hadjam are also working to meet Premier League demands after arriving recently.
