Albion are weighing a debut for Femi Azeez at Coventry City as preparations continue for the trip. According to TheArgus.co.uk, Fabian Hurzeler is also hopeful Georginio Rutter could make Sunday’s Premier League match.

Rutter has missed the last three games in all competitions and his left foot has been in a protective boot. Speaking on Thursday, Hurzeler said he should be close after a small setback, having returned to the training pitch, and if nothing goes wrong he hopes the forward will be available this weekend.

Azeez, a deadline-day signing from Millwall, did not feature in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Leeds because of a minor hamstring issue. He is due to train with the squad today and, if all is well, could be an option for the weekend.

Zadok Yohanna is being kept out of matchday squads while he follows an adapted training programme. The summer arrival from AIK in Sweden is being given time to adjust to the intensity of the Premier League and Albion’s training, and he will come back into contention after the international break.

Other absentees include defender Mats Wieffer, midfielder Jack Hinshelwood, wingers Yankuba Minteh and Kaoru Mitoma, and forwards Stefanos Tzimas and Evan Ferguson.

Mitoma has been pictured working in the gym this week as he continues rehabilitation from the hamstring injury he suffered in May. He is unlikely to return until at least next month and Hurzeler expects him to be back after the international break.
