Manchester United have been trying to move on members of the bomb squad, but so far, only Marcus Rashford has sealed a loan exit to Barcelona.

Alejandro Garnacho was expected to fetch the most money for INEOS, given his potential and Premier League proven quality.

However, with two weeks left for the summer window to close, the Argentine remains at Carrington, training individually, away from the main group.

Chelsea remain in pole position, however, the Blues are trying to lowball INEOS into selling the 21-year-old on the cheap. Which has meant an exit has still not materialised.

Offers galore

The Argentina international has not been short of offers, with Al-Nassr keen to reunite the winger with his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. But the offer was turned down.

Now, as per The Manchester Evening News, Alejandro Garnacho received interest from three Champions League clubs — Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Atletico Madrid.

However, after undertaking background checks, all three opted to move in a different direction.

“Three Champions League clubs decided against moving for Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

“Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid all did due diligence on Garnacho before deciding to explore other options to reinforce their attack.

“Spurs and Arsenal are interested in signing Crystal Palace talisman Eberechi Eze and Arsenal have already recruited winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea. Spurs have held discussions about potentially buying Savinho from Manchester City.

“Atletico, Garnacho’s former club, gave consideration to re-signing the Argentina international but bought fellow winger Alex Baena from Villarreal.”

Three teams left the race

Samuel Luckhurst’s report indicates the aforementioned clubs were not exactly enamoured with his attitude problems, as experienced by Ruben Amorim first-hand last season.

From explosive interviews against the head coach, to storming down the tunnel, to objectionable X posts, the Carrington graduate did it all.

With all three teams out of the race, the London team are the only team in the race. For his part, Alejandro Garnacho also seems hellbent on a move to Stamford Bridge.

But INEOS should not bow down to player pressure, and they should stick to their valuation. Given the Argentine’s threats of being ready to sit on the sidelines till a move away, the co-owners should grant him his wish if Chelsea do not lodge a serious offer.
