Osasuna will travel to Mestalla without playmaker Aimar Oroz, suspended after his latest booking. The visit to Valencia is on Sunday at 16:15, shortly after the hosts’ derby defeat at La Cerámica.
Alessio Lisci’s side are on a six-match unbeaten LaLiga run, four wins and two draws for 14 points from 18. Their latest victory was over Real Madrid, sealed with a 90th-minute goal. According to Superdeporte, centre-back Boyomo is also unavailable with a muscle problem.
Oroz collected a yellow while on a warning, triggering a ban for Mestalla. His absence removes a key link in midfield and between the lines. It has not been his most consistent season, yet his talent is unquestionable and he can trouble any defence when in rhythm.
Osasuna addressed key areas in the transfer window, adding Raúl Moro and Javi Galán, whose early displays at El Sadar have underlined their value. Moro’s arrival helps soften the impact of Oroz’s suspension.
Almost certainly, the former Ajax player will step in on one flank, with Víctor Muñoz, among LaLiga’s form players, on the other. The central slot looks set to go to the tireless Rubén García.
At the back, Herrando covers for Boyomo alongside Catena and is meeting the task. He was among the standouts against Real Madrid.
