Centre-back Alex Nascimento has left Santos after a mutual termination and has been unveiled by Al-Okhdood Club in Saudi Arabia's second division.
According to Diario Do Peixe, he had been under contract until the end of the year. Santos sought to loan him to Ponte Preta, he trained there for a month but was not registered because the club are under a transfer ban.
He is still awaiting the termination to be recorded in the BID, and both parties are evaluating possible financial compensation for Santos.
A São Paulo academy graduate, he had a spell at Fluminense before joining Santos in 2019 for the under-20s. He debuted for the first team in 2020, then spent 2021 to 2022 on loan at Famalicão in Portugal, making 22 appearances. On return he had limited chances due to injuries and Covid-19.
After recovering, he earned minutes under Paulo Turra and looked to settle in 2023. He played only seven matches, then fractured his right ankle in September. This year he began in physiotherapy and later featured five times in Série B against Avaí, Amazonas, Ceará, Paysandu and Ponte Preta.
Out of Santos' plans last season, he was loaned to Portuguesa for six games and to Athletic for nine. Across his Santos senior career he made 34 appearances, scoring once against Flamengo in the Brasileiro in 2022.
