Santos have released defender Alex Nascimento, who has signed a one-year contract with Saudi side Al-Okhdood. The 27-year-old has been unveiled by his new club, while Santos retain 20% of his economic rights.

According to Globo.com, his deal with Santos had been due to run until 31 December, but he was not in manager Cuca's plans.

Cuca first promoted Alex Nascimento during his stint at Vila Belmiro in 2020.

The centre-back began a sequence of loans in 2021, first to Famalicão in Portugal. He later featured for Portuguesa and Athletic, both from Minas Gerais, with those spells coming in 2025.

Earlier this year he joined Ponte Preta on loan, but was unable to make his debut due to a transfer ban imposed on the Campinas club, which is in a severe financial crisis.
