Alexander Bah remains a doubt for Benfica’s Europa League league phase opener against Milan at San Siro. The Danish right-back is close to recovering from the knock that kept him out of the last two matches, but his involvement is not yet assured.
According to Glorioso 1904, he has progressed well and could be included in the travelling party to Italy. If he does not make the trip, Daniel Banjaqui is viewed as the leading alternative at right-back.
Clarity is expected in Marco Silva’s pre-match briefing at 20:00 on Tuesday. The coach may confirm whether the Denmark international will be available for one of the campaign’s first major European tests.
Bah, 28, has played nine times for Benfica this season, contributing three assists.
Projections for the competition have also shifted. Opta’s supercomputer had Benfica as leading contenders last week with a 13.37% chance, which has since risen to 13.97%. They have, however, been overtaken, with Bournemouth now at 14.28%.
Benfica therefore remain among the frontrunners, but are no longer the top favourites in those models.
