Alexander Blessin set to become Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach | OneFootball

Borussia Mönchengladbach are close to appointing Alexander Blessin as their new head coach, reports Sky Germany. 

The former St. Pauli head coach will soon replace the recently departed Eugen Polanski, who was dismissed from his duties following three straight defeats to kickstart Gladbach’s season. 

Gladbach currently sit bottom of the Bundesliga following yet another defeat to Mainz 05 on matchday four. 

Blessin has a verbal agreement with Gladbach, with the final details just being confirmed before he puts pen to paper. 

Gladbach’s sporting director, Rouven Schröder, appreciates Blessin’s clear communication, his structure, and his playing philosophy, which he brings with him from his time as a coach at the Red Bull Academy in Leipzig. 

Blessin will take the reins during a three-week-long international break, giving him time to settle into his new surroundings. 

His first game in charge will be away against FC Köln, who have four points to their name.
