Alexander Isak says he has no regrets over his British-record switch to Liverpool, calling the move an easy decision despite a bruising debut season.

"No, never. I would never think like that," he told BBC Sport's The Football Interview.

"[Liverpool] is a massive club, and everything about the club made it pretty clear. And the club's ambition and the club's will to get me in as well. It was a big part of it."

In the weeks before leaving Newcastle, he missed pre-season amid intense speculation, kept fit at former club Real Sociedad, and later said promises made to him at St James' Park had been "broken".

The 26-year-old completed a deadline-day move in September 2025 for £125 million, a British-record fee that brought heavy expectations. He managed just three league goals before a leg break kept him out from December to April.

"[The leg break] was tough. Anyone who had a long injury would know. But on the other hand, when you're in a good place and when you feel good, you don't really tend to look back because it doesn't really benefit you."

Now fully fit, Isak has started the new Premier League campaign sharply, scoring three times in four matches. That return already equals his entire league tally from last season.
