Alexander Isak has said he is feeling good as the forward looks to make an impact at Liverpool this season.
Isak scored one and was involved in the second as Liverpool lost 3-2 to AS Monaco at Anfield on Sunday.
The Swedish striker has shown encouraging signs since his return for pre-season, developing an understanding with Florian Wirtz in the final third.
The high-profile signings from last summer's transfer window failed to make the desired impact last season, with Isak's campaign decimated by a missed pre-season and serious injury sustained in December.
The 26-year-old scored just four times in 22 appearances last season, but believes he is finding his sharpness during the summer schedule.
"It was good. Really nice to be back at home, back in front of the fans and get some more minutes into the legs. So, that felt good," he toldliverpoolfc.com.
"I feel good, I feel good. Every game hopefully should take me to a better fitness level, so that's what I'm working towards.
"I think today felt better than [the] last game and hopefully the next game feels better than today. That's what pre-season is for – building – and that's what we have to keep doing."
Liverpool next face Como at Anfield in their final pre-season fixture on Sunday, before beginning thePremier League campaign at Newcastle United on August 23rd.
