Winless after their opening two Champions League games, Stuttgart face a difficult test against Juventus in Turin on Tuesday night. Dušan Vlahović scored a brace for the Bianconeri in their last European fixture, coming from behind twice to beat RB Leipzig, and Alexander Nübel is wary of the threat that the Serbian provides.
Nübel (24) described Vlahović as a “buffalo up front” in Monday’s press conference, adding: “He is a goalscorer, a great striker who many teams want. He plays free kicks well, he scores a lot and has good technique. I’m happy to face a player as strong as him, it will be important to work very well as a team to keep him in check.”
Vlahović has scored seven goals and created one in 10 games across all competitions under Thiago Motta this season, and it will be up to Nübel and defensive pairing Jeff Chabot and Anthony Rouault to stop Juve front man.
