According to L'Équipe, Alexandre Dujeux is in talks with Lorient about succeeding Olivier Pantaloni after leaving Angers last week.
Lorient appear to have moved from profiling candidates to a more active hiring phase, and a resolution could come soon.
The Breton club considered several options, including Will Still, Patrick Videira, retained by Le Mans, and Stéphane Gilli, who is close to joining Angers, as well as Wilfried Nancy.
Now Dujeux, 50, is thought to be the frontrunner after three years in charge at Angers.
He has featured on Lens’s shortlist and is also among Nice targets, although any move there would depend on clarity around their takeover project.
