Following Barcelona's 4-0 victory over Lyon in Saturday's Women’s Champions League final, Alexia Putellas was named player of the competition. UEFA confirmed the accolade and also revealed a team of the season led by the champions.
After three years of Aitana Bonmati holding the honour, the award returns to Putellas. The Barcelona captain, previously recognised in 2022, regains it for the 2025-2026 campaign.
Across 11 matches she delivered 7 goals and 7 assists. No player registered a greater goal involvement in the competition.
The team of the season underlines Barcelona’s dominance, with Cata Coll, Mapi León, Patri Guijarro, Putellas and Ewa Pajor also selected.
Beaten finalists Lyon still supply Wendie Renard and Melchie Dumornay.
The XI is completed by Emily Fox and Alessia Russo of Arsenal, plus Pernille Harder of Bayern Munich.
