Alfonso Pedraza is delighted signing a new contract with Villarreal.
The midfielder has penned a deal to 2026.
“I'm very happy," said Pedraza.
"It's what I wanted. I would like to be here for a number of years. I've been here since I was 16 and Villarreal is my home. There's a very ambitious project here. I wanted to renew my contract and stay here."
For the third season in a row, the Submarine have qualified for Europe. Individually, Pedraza ended the season in great form: “I'm very happy. As a left-back, I've been able to help a lot with my goals. It's a shame that the season is over now, but we're happy to be in Europe, which was our aim, and we're focused on setting goals ahead of next season."
After so many years aboard the Submarine, Pedraza has experienced a number of special moments with the club. There are two of them which stand out for him: “The top-flight debut was very special. Aged 17, I was lucky enough to play with the first team. There isn't anything bigger than that. Then, bit by bit, you fulfil your aims and you become a footballer. The other most special moment was last year, when we won the Europa League. We had a lot of fun and it's a memory that will last our whole lives."
Finally, after his contract extension, Pedraza is now setting himself new goals and expects a bright future for Villarreal: “We're ambitious. We want to grow every year and to continue getting titles and achievements so the club can continue to grow."
