Alfred Schreuder says that Ajax did everything they possibly could to try and help Mohamed Ihattaren.
The Dutch club have announced that they won’t be renewing Ihattaren’s loan deal or signing him permanently, with the Dutchman instead returning to Juventus in January.
The 20-year-old hasn’t trained, let alone played, this season, with non-footballing matters being the only reason he’s been spoken about as he’s gotten involved with criminal gangs.
While he’s disappointed though, Schreuder says has no regrets over how things have panned out as the club did everything they could to help the young player succeed.
“It was decided by Ajax. What I think about it, I keep to myself. It is a pity how it went. It did not go as we had hoped,” said the manager.
“I don’t see it as a personal defeat. We have done everything we can within Ajax. Everything has been said for us.”
