The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is already considering securing the future of Vladimir Petkovic. Buoyed by impressive results since taking charge, the Swiss-Bosnian coach has earned the federation’s full trust, becoming a central figure in their long-term sporting project.

According to Algerian outlet Compétition, talks have begun over a contract extension. The same source reports that a meeting took place between Petkovic and president Walid Sadi, during which an official offer was presented. However, the manager has reportedly asked for some time before making his decision.

Appointed in February 2024 as head of the Algerian national team, Petkovic boasts a solid record with 19 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats. While a final decision is pending, he is expected to lead the team in the upcoming March friendlies, likely against Uruguay and Guatemala in Turin, with the 2026 World Cup firmly in sight.
