Algeria: Frustrated, Ilan Kebbal loses his cool
Nothing seems to work—the same script keeps playing out for Paris FC. Despite a strong performance and clear dominance in possession, Stéphane Gilli’s men suffered yet another home defeat on Friday, falling to a clinical Stade Rennais side (0-1). A devastating counterattack, finished by Breel Embolo in the closing minutes, crushed the hopes of the Parisian side, who had controlled the ball and looked more threatening throughout the match.
Paris FC threw everything forward, but luck continues to elude them. Two shots hit the post, a flurry of clear-cut chances, and still the same bitter reality: the Parisians just can’t capitalize during their best spells. That’s a frustration shared by Ilan Kebbal, who was visibly irritated as he left the pitch:
"It feels like we’re reliving the same match every week. We dominate, we create the best chances, but we can’t finish them off. The other team gets just one opportunity, and it’s a goal. That’s the difference with the top teams."
"This league doesn’t forgive. Every mistake, we pay for it immediately."
This latest setback marks a third consecutive match without a win for Paris FC, pushing them dangerously close to the bottom of the table. If they hope to bounce back, they’ll need to quickly fix their lack of efficiency that’s undermining the ambitions of a squad otherwise impressive in their play.
