MC Oran announced in a statement published on its official Facebook page this Thursday, February 5, 2026, that it has terminated the contract of Juan Carlos Garrido due to the poor results recorded during the recent period.

The home defeat against Olympique Akbou (0-1) on Tuesday, during the 17th round of the Algerian championship was the final straw. The anger of the supporters pushed the Mouloudia Club Oranais management to make a change at the helm of the club’s technical staff.

MCO has not won any of its last six matches in the Algerian Ligue 1, consequently dropping to eighth place in the standings with 23 points. The club was also knocked out early from the Algerian Cup.

Appointed head coach at the beginning of September 2025, the Spanish tactician leaves with a record of 5 wins, 4 draws, and 5 defeats. This marks a second, and once again unfruitful, stint in Algeria after his previous spell at USM Alger.
