Ali Ahamada, 35, the former Toulouse goalkeeper famed for a historic Ligue 1 goal, has signed for Aubagne in Ligue three.

According to L'Équipe, the Martigues-born keeper trained with the southern club last season and now returns to the Bouches-du-Rhône to lend experience. The team are 16th with four points from five matches.

Alongside his playing role, he remains the U20 goalkeeping coach for the Comoros national team.

He has also negotiated the creation of a goalkeeper academy in partnership with his new club.

Ahamada’s career has included spells in Türkiye, Norway, Andorra and Tanzania. More recently he featured in the Kings League, a seven-a-side amateur competition with distinctive rules, keeping goal for FC Silmi, chaired by streamer Domingo.
