Alisha Lehmann speaks out on loss to FC Luzern

With the dust now settled on Switzerland’s loss to FC Luzern, Juventus star Alisha Lehmann has finally spoken out about the defeat as Euro 2025 fast approaches.

“As a team, we ignore that and concentrate on what we can influence.” Lehmann said. “Today, we don’t have the time to analyse scientific studies.”

“The atmosphere at the tournament was fantastic – I hope we can experience similar emotions here in Switzerland. It’s something very special to be able to play in a home tournament. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Lehmann was initially snubbed from the Switzerland squad but the 26-year-old received a late call-up after midfielder Alena Bienz withdrew with an ankle injury.

It is clear that Switzerland are keen to move on from their shock loss to the local under-15’s side and as they host the Euros this summer it would be best for them to put the unfortunate defeat behind them.

Switzerland kick off their Euros journey on Wednesday evening, as they play host to Norway at St. Jakob-Park in the Group A and tournament opener.

Can Switzerland win Euro 2025 as hosts?

There are certainly doubts over Switzerland’s quality following the nation’s shock defeat in their final preparation game, but as hosts of Euro 2025 the squad certainly holds some advantage over other countries.

The best UK football betting sites have Switzerland as one of the less likely winners of the Euros this year with the likes of England, Spain and Germany leading the odds.

Switzerland are still favoured to advance from their group but at a price of 25/1 to win the tournament it would be a big shock to see them lift their first title at the end of July.
