Liverpool head coach Arne Slot could have an impending goalkeeping decision to make in the near future once Alisson Becker returns to fitness.
The Brazil No.1 has been out of action for the last month having suffered a muscle injury against Crystal Palace with Caoimhin Kelleher taking over in the meantime.
The Irishman has performed admirably in the interim, helping Liverpool solidify their grip on top spot in the Premier League and Champions League table.
The 25-year-old’s form has led to discussions over whether he deserves to keep his place in the team once Alisson returns with Arne Slot recently declaring that the former Roma star would be going straight back into the team.
However, with Kelleher saving a penalty in Ireland’s victory over Finland on Thursday night, talk has again turned to whether he is worth retaining in goal for the Reds.
And former Irish international Tony Cascarino believes it would be a ‘mad mistake’ for Slot to drop Kelleher.
