Just six months after his arrival, it is looking increasingly likely that Angel Gomes (25) will leave Olympique de Marseille this month.
As per a report from L’Équipe, Marseille are pushing him towards the exit. The club’s hierarchy have become more insistent on a departure for the England international as they accelerate attempts to bring in Quinten Timber and SCO Angers’ Himad Abdelli. If OM are to get those deals done, a departure is necessary and Gomes is the prime candidate, given his struggles since joining on a free transfer in the summer.
But Gomes is not opposed to an exit. The Manchester United academy product is keen to leave the Vélodrome this month in order to get more game time and to bolster his chances of featuring for England at the upcoming World Cup, as per a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter. He adds that Les Phocéens will not demand a large sum.
