Florentino Perez’s recent press conferences have been impressive – if slightly crazy.
His rant about referees at the end of the season was pretty unhinged. Now he’s on the election trail again, and is making big statements almost daily. PSG have been dragged into the latest news.
Perez’s big campaign promise this morning was that he’s going to make a €150m bid for a player on Tuesday. The Real Madrid president wouldn’t reveal who it is – but did say it wasn’t a Premier League player, wasn’t Michael Olise or Harry Kane, but is a “galactico.”
The Madrid based media, including Marca, are saying all roads lead to PSG in this case. They suspect that the player he’s talking about is Vitinha or Joao Neves.
PSG, for their part, will insist that neither is going anywhere, and at this stage in their career we’re not sure why either would push for that anyway. Even if Perez bids the €150m he’s promised, we don’t see why PSG would accept. They have the nucleus of a legendary team and there’s no reason to break it up at any price.
This promise from Perez looks set to fall flat.
David Ornstein has some bad news for PSG in terms of their pursuit of one of their top targets for this summer.
There are a lot of conflicting stories out there about potential PSG interest in Eli Junior Kroupi – do they want him, or do they not?
