La Liga strugglers Almería have today secured some altogether timely reinforcements to the club’s attacking ranks.
That’s according to Relevo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at the Power Horse Stadium.
The Almería brass, it is understood, have reached an agreement to bring in experienced La Liga campaigner Jonathan Viera, with immediate effect.
A free agent since terminating his contract with Las Palmas owing to a falling out with head coach Garcia Pimienta back in December, Viera was widely expected to continue his career in the Saudi Pro League.
However, as much will have to wait, with the 34-year-old all set to put pen to paper on terms with basement dwellers Almería.
The move, which will not set the Rojiblancos back a transfer fee owing to Viera’s free agent status, is expected to run through the upcoming summer.
From here, Almería owner Turki Al-Sheikh will then act as the middle man to facilitate the attack-minded midfielder’s ensuing arrival in Saudi Arabia.
