Bayern Munich have been without Alphonso Davies since March after the Canadian suffered a season-ending cruciate ligament injury while on international duty. Speaking to BILD ahead of the UEFA Champions League final in Munich, the 24-year-old revealed his comeback plan.
“In November, hopefully,” said Davies. “That’s the plan.” If everything goes according to plan and there are no setbacks, it means that Davies would be sidelined for eight months. He told BILD that his ‘rehab is going smoothly’ and is making ‘steady progress’ towards his first running session following his injury.
In a video released on his YouTube channel, Davies revealed his mental struggles after being sidelined for such a long time. In the first few days after his injury, the left-back said: “I’m not going to lie, that was hard. I had a mental breakdown. I don’t know what came over me. I went to take a shower, and I just broke down in tears and panic.”
Now, the comeback plan looks a lot clearer.
