Eintracht Frankfurt are braced for widespread transfer interest in one of their most exhilarating stars this summer.
Indeed, Hugo Ekitike’s stellar performances haven’t gone unnoticed by clubs across Europe – particularly in the Premier League, where, according to Fabrizio Romano, sides have ‘already started calling for the French striker’.
Manchester United are certainly among the mix, having had their interest confirmed on numerous occasions by Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg. One report suggested their scouts would be keeping a close eye on how Ekitike fared for France’s U21s last night and, given that he bagged a hat-trick in his nation’s 5-3 victory, it’s safe to say they’ll be thrilled with what they saw.
At club level this season, he’s enjoyed equally scintillating form, notching 19 goals and eight assists in 38 appearances for Frankfurt.

Romano dropped a bombshell update on the 22-year-old this morning, claiming he is ‘expected to leave’ the German outfit in the summer.
It remains to be seen exactly how much Frankfurt will demand for their talisman. They forked out only £13.2 million to sign him from Paris Saint-Germain last year, though outlets have suggested he is now valued in the region of £70m.
Depending on how far Frankfurt progress in the Europa League – where they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals – and the role Ekitike plays throughout, his price tag could soar.
Elsewhere, INEOS are also said to be interested in Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Xavi Simons and Liam Delap as they look to reinforce Ruben Amorim’s frontline in the transfer window.
