FC Bayern are pressing ahead with their search for a new winger for the left flank – and are pursuing a clear dual strategy. While Anthony Gordon is considered the ideal solution, the Munich club already have a prominent alternative in Marcus Rashford
According to Sky, Gordon is the first choice at Säbener Straße. The 25-year-old from Newcastle United has exactly the profile Bayern are looking for on the left flank – pace, penetration and goal threat. The England international can also envisage a move to Munich
The biggest obstacle in the transfer poker is currently the transfer fee, with Newcastle demanding up to 90 million euros for their attacking star – a sum that represents a serious challenge for FC Bayern
Those responsible around Max Eberl are therefore carefully examining whether a deal is economically feasible – and are keeping other options open at the same time

According to the portal 90min, one of these alternatives is Marcus Rashford. Although the 28-year-old is still under contract at Manchester United, he no longer has any sporting prospects there
The England international is currently on loan at FC Barcelona, where he has scored a solid 25 goals in 43 appearances this season. The Catalans have a purchase option worth 30 million euros – but it remains to be seen whether they will exercise this
Rashford’s versatility is one of the main advantages for FC Bayern. Like Gordon, he can be deployed both on the wing and in the center, making him a perfect fit for Vincent Kompany’s flexible offensive system
Moreover, Rashford is no stranger to Säbener Straße, having been repeatedly linked with a move to Munich in the past
It remains to be seen which player Bayern will ultimately opt for, but with Gordon as their preferred solution and Rashford as a possible Plan B, Bayern are prepared for several scenarios. The summer transfer window promises to be an exciting one in Munich.
