Julián Alvarez has had quite the week. After seeing his penalty in the Champions League shootout loss to rivals Real Madrid controversially and cruelly ruled out, the Atlético de Madrid striker has bounced back with a crucial opener in the top of the table LaLiga clash with Barcelona.
The Argentine struck on the stroke of half time, finishing smartly from inside the box after brilliant work from Antoine Griezmann and a perfect assist from Giuliano Simeone teed up him to smash home.
It's been quite the first season for Alvarez since his big move from Manchester City, and it's one that could end with a league medal.
A win tonight will see Atleti leapfrog Barcelona and into second, just one point behind, you guessed it, Real Madrid.
